Many holidaymakers have not yet filed for compensation following the collapse of XL Leisure, which was the UK's largest package holiday group. Those who are still hoping to make a claim for compensation only have until midnight Friday 11th September 2009 to do so. Therefore, anyone who is eligible for a refund as a result of lost travel plans is being urged to file a claim with the Civial Aviation Authority (CAA) immediately.
Figures reveal that 55,324 claims have been settled out of the 65,102 applications already received, and a final surge of applications is expected in the last few days before the deadline.
