A woman who has been left with a 10 minute memory as a result of medical negligence has recieved more than £4million in personal injury compensation.

Cristina Malcolm, 41, was diagnosed with a virus in 2002 but later collapsed with a brain haemorrhage. After a second haemorrhage, Cristina had to have life saving surgery.

Cristina's husband, Malcolm, filed a compensation claim for gross medical neglience against Chevely Park Medical Centre in Durham, Durham and Darlington Acute Hospitals NHS Trust, and Newcastle upon Tyne Hospitals NHS Trust.
