Around 30 people have suffered personal injuries following a crash on the Big Dipper in Blackpool. The personal injuries were sustained after two rollercoaster cars were involved in a collision with each other at Blackpool Pleasure Beach.
Lancashire Fire and Rescue Service reported around 32 people as walking wounded and these were taken to hospital by ambulance following the impact. Specialist teams were brought into to help stranded passengers as the two cars came to rest around 6 meters from the ground. The use of stretchers and spinal boards was necessary for some of the injured as it was believed that some passengers suffered broken bones, whiplash, and back injuries.
