Road Traffic Accidents

Can I claim after a Road Traffic Accident?

If you have been injured in a road traffic accident that wasn’t your fault, you may be able to make a personal injury claim and get compensation for any loss of earnings or suffering caused as a result of the accident, as well as other related costs (such as medical expenses).

Of course, nobody wants to be involved in a road traffic accident but sadly they happen.

In the immediate aftermath of a road traffic accident, the priority of all parties should be to try and ensure that any injuries are dealt with quickly and the surrounding area is made safe.

However, afterwards there may be a number of problems you may have to live with and that is why you may be able to make a successful whiplash injury claim or claim compensation for other injuries.

If you are injured you may be entitled to road traffic accident injury compensation from the party held to be responsible for the accident (assuming that was not you of course).

The extent of any compensation awarded will depend upon the circumstances of the road traffic accident and the nature and extent of any injuries you’ve suffered.

So, for example, if you’ve suffered injuries that mean you require specialist ongoing medical attention and are unable to work (or work normally) then you may be able to seek redress from the other party.

Getting that compensation isn’t just a case of trying to make the other party pay – it may make a huge difference to the quality of your life and enable you to concentrate on making a full recovery.

Claims in operation

Each of our clients has a unique set of personal circumstances, which means that generalisation is difficult.

We need to understand the nature and details of your accident to provide you with the appropriate advice from our team of qualified professionals.

However, compensation is typically viewed as coming into two categories:

  • compensation for the pain and suffering you incurred;
  • compensation for expenses you have incurred.

Understanding and describing the effects of your accident in these terms is critically important as part of the process of making a successful personal injury claim and getting you the accident compensation you may be eligible for.

That is why expertise in dealing with such claims is so important – an expertise we at Accident Lawyers 4U are confident we can deliver.
